[CASIO F105W-1A] Elegant Japanese Design

I got my hands on another ubiquitous Casio. It’s my fifth time buying one; the pocket change price point makes them essentially disposable. (I once left home without mine and I just bought a new one with a microwave burrito at the Walmart on my to work.)

It’s by far my least favorite watch, even thought it’s essentially invincible, accurate and has every function you could practically want for. This time piece appears to be inspired by the rudimentary cockpit displays of an 80’s era jet, and is equipped with corresponding processing power.

The watch is perfectly at home in this antiquated setting, and bears the hallmarks of classic student pilot style. The versatile signature blue-on-black face compliments flight gear reeking of fear as easily as it does off duty attire, such as a polo shirt tucked into dad jeans and chunky white New Balances.

The aerospace grade band doesn’t ever seem to match wrist size. It will always be either pinching the tender skin below your palm or hanging loosely, threatening to fall below the seat of your 2008 Honda Pilot or worse, into the cockpit, getting you further into hot water with maintenance personnel.

All that being said, you’ll never have to take it off since nobody is interested in seeing a Casio owner naked.

To those still on the hunt for your Sky King, good luck!
