I have recently finished watching Jim Sharman's Rocky Horror Picture Show and Brian De Palma's Phantom of the Paradise and I ended up falling in love with both films. However I am not very well versed in the genre and I am having trouble finding movies similar to them. I know other famous performances such as Singin' in the Rain and The Sound of Music, and while they are amazing films in their own right, I do enjoy watching stuff (and please forgive my pretentiousness) that is not very 'vanilla'. I don't really mind whether if it's a comedy or not, either.

On top of that, are there any good musical theatre performances that haven't been made into films but have been recorded and can be found online?
