I want to offer a critique of some of the views in the thread. To clarify, my views are non-liberal and non-marxist, but I identify my strain of thought as leftist. Most of my views align with Green-left parties in Europe. Would greatly appreciate if anyone could offer a good analysis, whether my views are reactionary or against feminism etc.

I would like to identify a major difference in opinions regarding monogamy among left wing type individuals. There is evidence that left wing values, atheism and 'liberalism' (as cited in the study I will reference, they define liberal in a very silly way. They should be using the word leftist or something along those lines), correlate to preferences regarding monogamy among men but not among women. I would like to quote the study :

Caveat: Please forgive my implied circle jerking about left wingers and atheists being more intelligent and so on,.I don't think IQ is all that useful as a measure of intelligence blah blah, but if the empirical evidence supports it then I use it. End Caveat.

It is my hypothesis that this could lead to a disconnect between those with straight male gender identity and those with straight female gender identity within left wing groups. Within a left wing group straight males are more likely to answer that they value monogamy. Of course, this is simply a preference, I will submit that it is a preference that I hold as well, but it could lead to misinterpretations and confusion. It could easily be interpreted by a feminist critique that monogamy has patriarchal undertones, one woman will belong to each man etc. I would certainly view that as a danger that should be taken seriously.

I would like to share my point of view. I have little to no interest in casual sex, and I greatly prefer monogamous relationships to non-monogamous ones. That is my preference, so it may lead me to have an excessively optimistic view of monogamy.

I'll submit some annoyances that I have with excessive promiscuity. It doesn't upset me (outside of maybe a tinge of jealousy) if women have lots of sexual partners or what have you. That ought to be their decision. What really bothers me are the 'leftist bros' who might brag about their number (these people do exist) or behave in other obnoxious ways. Again, that is my personal preference, but I also think that not countering that type of behavior is really quite bad for fostering mutual trust and solidarity in a leftist movement. I am not going to trust a dude who speaks in that way and probably have negative views of those who associate with him. I think that shit-talking about such individuals is seriously underutilized and should be encouraged. Other means should also be considered in countering such individuals, and perhaps encouraging the norm of monogamy might be seen as a bulwark against this type of behavior.

So, my views, reactionary or no?
