Catalan far left wants independence to “sweep away capitalism”

But it's a waste of time for me to explain in a reddit post any economic analysis, when you can learn it by your own. There are many economic studies about it, so I'm gonna share you one of the best written by the Catalan American economist (non politician) Xavier Sala-i-Martin, professor at Harvard, Yale and Columbia and considered one of the best economists in the world. He shared for free a 100+ pages book about the economics of an independent Catalonia in Spanish, so I encourage you to read it: http://salaimartin.com/media/books/HoraAdios.pdf. When people like you start "trolling" about economics on his Twitter, he shares them his book and encourages people to debunk his arguments and analyses. Nobody has been able to do so, maybe you can? Maybe you know more about economics than one of the best economists on Earth?

For the enjoyment of those who unlike Gerard live in a fact-based world, Sala i Martin not only is not one of the best economists in the world, but a well known crank of the Austrian persuasion who will unironically quote Hayek and von Mises.

I also find it very ironic that the same people who jerk themselves over about how very progressive and socialistic they are (unlike those evil, evil spaniards) quote a staunch defender of such an antiprogressive ideology, but that's nationalism for you: idealistic people sucking oligarch cock in exchange for a flag.
