Catastrophizing

Whenever I get catch myself doing this (and it's quite often haha), I take my thinking ine step further and think about the ways I would adapt/respond to that situation. Might seems scary at first, but most of that for me stemmed from my fear of the unknown. Once I knew a bit more about what the situation was, my analytical side took over and it'd go from there until my irrational side caught up with me again :P. It's good to think about the ways something can go wrong, that way you can think about contingencies and action plans so that you're better prepared. Maybe not EVERY eventuality, but at least you'll be able to respond better. I had a really crap year last year, it was my final year of uni and I was actively looking for work. It was really difficult and catastrophising ended up being really counterproductive and self-fulfilling to the point where in went into interviews already knowing I messed up (weird, right?). Take some proper deep breaths (your belly should inflate and your chest should have minimal movement), chin up, learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward!
