The worst story I ever heard was from a co-worker back in the early 90s. It was about her cousin and the cousin's husband. The way she told the story was funny, except the reality of it was actually horrifying. Like, for real.

Story went: Her cousin was a bit on the wild side, married to an alcoholic, also on the wild side and (shock and awe) they had a bit of a 'crazy' relationship. Included physical abuse, aggravated by hubby's drinking, but apparently went both ways. One night, after a particularly rowdy fight, cousin was pissed and wanted to get back at hubby, but she was smaller. So she waited until he passed out in bed drunk and exacted her revenge by literally sewing him up in the bed sheets and then beating him with a cast iron skillet!

The most fucked up part of all is that they were still together and just considered that one of their funniest 'fights'. I had no words.

That story was etched into my brain and every so often, something will remind me of it and I always wondered what happened to them. Prison? Death? Or are they still together? Kicking and screaming...and beating each other with cast iron skillets while reminiscing the grand kids about 'the good old fights'!?
