I can't remember a time BoM has given a number I haven't seen elsewhere. Why would BoM be the only website to get this "scoop?" Wouldn't passing a number for an actual article (thus keeping the film in the news) make for sense then quietly giving BoM an alleged number? Wouldn't BoM try to publicize scoops if they were actually getting them first?

I'm not claiming you're wrong, it just doesn't add up to me. Given "how much did Cats cost" became a minor story, shouldn't the studio's unofficial budget number leak travel around?

Of course, I could be missing something fairly obvious about hollywood's relationship to the trades. This isn't my wheelhouse.
