Oh on to your document everything comment, I agree entirely. I'm trying to keep myself out of trouble as I live there and I don't want accusations to one day popup just because she gets in to extreme trouble over something and she does that as like a panic response. I was called creepy and a nutjob in the above comments, but I'd much rather be perceived as that than possibly go to jail over something I haven't done.

What happens one day when she decides she doesn't like me any more because I impose a rule like "be home by 9" when she is 16? Next thing you know I'm gone because I'm inconvenient.

I don't think people on here realize because they've never been in this kind of situation but it is a serious fear of mine at this point.
