This makes me nostalgic: I grew up in Grosse Pointe and enjoyed watching Canadian TV, not realizing how lucky we were to have a 4th TV channel in the 1950's.

Obscure fun fact (that only I would care about, probably): There was a Saturday afternoon movie show on the Canadian channel that my father and I watched together until I headed off to college in the early 70's. The host was Bill Kennedy. Every so often, during a move break he would mention that it was his voice we heard at the beginning of the Superman TV show: "Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings at a single bound -- Superman". (It's funny how memory works. What did I have for breakfast today? No clue.) Bill would say, amused, that every time his voice is heard at the beginning of Superman, he makes a little money.
