An alleged $50,000 that no-one but the accused has seen, no receipt exists for, no photograph.

No money has been recovered - it is likely the money was a hoax.

$50,000 is chump change compared with the millions in tourism and wages and training and funding pumped into the local economy yearly by the lion pride - much of which will be downto the star attraction and certainly there were tons of cancellations after the killing.

So no trace of any money, most money left the area if it ever existed, certainly undeclared so no tax will be paid.

No money is no money - that is why there are legitimate, legal hunts that pay agencieswho keep proper accounts and pay tax and local wages.

THis money either doesn;t exist or is far away, outside Zimbabwe and useless to the local economy.

Meawhile costs have gone through the roof, extra guards, new equipment, new rules - no man alone policy.

Income from tourism and cancelled TV deals have fallen through the floor and Journalists pay less, short term and have mostly gone home.

It was a disaster, jobs have been lost, wages cut, less hours, less pay, inflation.

Even if the $50,000 was real and in local hands it would be a drop inthe ocean compared to what has already been lost and the decline is slowing but it nothing like recovered - pretty much equivalent to a recession.

Never mind the possible still pending disaster if the pride breaks up, Kerico & pal leave, pride leaves Hwange, Cubs murdered - could still be totally devastating already is bad.

$50,000 is paltry compensation and then again there is no $50,000 than any has (exceppt the accused) has seen and their claims are dubious.
