Celebrating Banned Book Week Sept. 24th- 30th

Graphic violence—nothing close to grimdark, but the prologue is centered around a military operation and in the climax a son watches his dad get shot and bleed to death. Later, a character who was there has a memory/dream/vision/flashback/episode/etc of his little brother's death. I'm not sure how he died, but seeing the other character's dad covered in blood reminded him of his brother when he died.

Sexually explicit—aside from uncensored typical-crude-teenage-boy-talk, there is a perhaps not too subtle masturbation scene. Later, said masturbating character prostitutes himself (not shown on the page) and every once in a while recalls/remarks on his experiences or people he comes across he would like to have experiences with. There may be a sex scene involving a different character, but I'm not sure how explicit it will be.

LGBTQ characters—two of the four POV characters are gay. For one character, aside from the aforementioned possible sex scene, it's not super relevant and you only really learn about it from other characters. For the other character, his accepting himself and coming out to others is a large part of his story.

Child abuse—one character's backstory (if you haven't gathered by now) is largely framed by his abusive upbringing, including sexual, verbal, physical...maybe a little mental abuse too?

Drug use—no actual drug use (yet), but there is talk about drugs...actually, there is no drug use on the pages, but there are some minor characters who smoke (my world's equivalent of) marijuana and mention it, but you don't see it happening.
