why not... ill poke the bear and defend this. i wouldn't look to far into it. first off "hebrew school" if you talk to any jew, is optional. you are not required to go, and in fact some temples usually make you go just so you can be bar mitzvahed. however i know a good amount of people that didnt go to hebrew school, just got a tutor and still had the BM....so no one is required to go to hebrew school. number 2... OP wasn't forced into reading any prayers. did they go down the page and read the prayers.. sure. did they all sing them together as one..im sure they did. did people stand over OP with a whip and beat him if he didnt say the prayers...no they didnt. i used to sleep through half these classes and play pokemon on my gameboy pocket the other half. are the prayers kinda fucked up? yea...out of context could they be spun different ways, sure.. but i promise you OP was not "forced" to do anything.

Now, in regards to the actual prayers. not sure if you are aware of this or not, but jews are really into themselves. they call themselves the chosen people, the Israelites. obviously being born a jew would be a good thing since they are the chosen ones and thanking the lord for not being born a goyum (nonjew) would prob be in the prayers

as for not being a woman....eh im pretty positive judiasm isnt the only religion to be sexist...but if you read the next line you have the girls say thank you for being a girl and being made that way....so there is that.

in summary, i can easily go through the bible or any other religious text and pull sentences and clauses that could be considered a little strange and weird. pretty sure if you have sex before marriage you should be stoned to death on your dads doorstep. or you're not allowed to grow a beard or get tattoos or piercings (scar yourself), but i guess no one really picks apart the bible.
