CEO Exit: Jeff Smisek stepped down as United Airlines’ CEO last week amid a federal corruption probe. He will receive at least $21 million in cash and stock, fly free for the rest of his life and keep his company car.

I don't think so. The fact is you don't grasp economy 101. Hence, it's easy to see why your views espouse a communist ideology. Without having experience or at least a deep understanding of what it takes to create a business, to create jobs, I can see why you think that money grows on trees. Your philosophy is one of misplaced entitlement. Somehow, society at large is financially responsible for your well-being. It's not. You are solely responsible for your life.

Your assumptions don't stop there. You assume that I've "never encountered and genuine struggle". The fact is I came in this country without a pot to piss in and barely speaking English. Don't talk to me about struggle. Been there, done that, even lived under a proverbial bridge for a while. But unlike you, I didn't look for excuses. I didn't sit in the corner, lamenting about my fate. I didn't blame others. And certainly never look for or took a hand out. I learned what I needed to learn and I rolled up my sleeves. It is truly that simple.

Invariably, guys like you will always deride and reduce the success guys like me achieved as "luck". I'm sure that in your mind, it's a lot easier to attribute everything to luck versus realizing that you, (if you were born and raised in this country or most western countries) had a tangible headstart in life. You had opportunities that 90% of the people on this earth didn't and will never have. So either you leverage those opportunities or you don't. Ultimately, it is your choice, your decisions to make. So, given that you're in a country that offers so much access to anything, at virtually any given time, why should one not be fully accountable for his/her decisions and actions? Why should that society be responsible for poor decisions or bad judgement?

If today I decided to say screw it all, go buy some drugs, get wasted, go visit some stripers and ended up in a casino, would you be waiting for me outside to give me your hard earn cash to replace what I lost? I don't think so. So why expect society at large to do something that you wouldn't do yourself?
