CEO on billionaires: "Let them get wiped out. Who cares. They don't get to summer in the Hamptons? Who cares... On Main Street today, people are getting wiped out. Rich CEOs are not. Boards are not. People are!"

Ok I see what you’re getting at and we have more common ground than not. First to answer the debt situation, a nation state is not a household and debt does not work the same way. 25T in debt is substantial, but the statement 25T below $0 is misleading. We won’t just “stop having money to spend,” it doesn’t work that way.

And I may have been a little to broad in the statement “let them fail.” The United States used to break up monopolies. We used to care about a company getting “to big to fail.” Or to big to compete against. The idea that these companies get to exist in their current form after receiving bailouts twice, is just infuriating. Don’t shut them down, break them into smaller parts. We the people paid for them right? So we the people should get a stake in the company. And we should go back to a time when anti monopoly laws actually stopped corporations from doing what they are doing. But I think we may be a little to late for that at this point.
