The irony is fierce. How long do you honestly think you can argue the format of real competitive sports and continue to pretend melee follows the same setups which is undeniably false?

First, i recommend reading up on things you don't know before speaking on them. Next i suggest questioning the tournament organization of melee after the realization of how real sports work.

My only question was why is melees tournament formats tampered with so heavily by TOs? It clearly favors players who are popular fan picks instead of a fair tournament. Even I could come up with a better format for more entertaining matches and legitimacy in ranking.

step1. group by region step2. group by tier (have players from that region help with skill ranking) step3. make bracket based on tiers (more enjoyable to new players and veterans +fair+entertaining+realisticrankingsystem) step4. ??? step5. profit. best tournament ever hosted.

keep double elimination or toss it for single elimination bo5 which saves time and has a more legitimate competitive feel.

keep track of players progression by results of their tiers bracket from tournament to tournament moving them up or down accordingly while giving a chance every tournament for a new winner.

1st place wont always be the same people every time guaranteed because of a garbage system used at this point in time giving both incentive and an interesting title for top spot like a real 1 on 1 competitive sport.

instead we would get a real ranking system with a real top 10 with the top players only playing against other top players and newcomers climbing the ranks to get into top tier.

tier. 1 top 10 tier. 2 people who usually win their regions locals tier. 3 people who sometimes win matches at their locals tier. 4 people who are new

tier 1 vs tier 1 tier 2 vs tier 2 tier 3 vs tier 3 tier 4 vs tier 4

winner of tier 4 plays winner of tier 3 winner of tier 3 plays winner of tier 2 winner of tier 2 plays winner of tier 1 tournament ends with equal opportunity to progress up into new skill group - if lower tier player beats higher tier player lower tier player gets groups with the next tier next tournament.

top 10 will remain tier 1 lowest scoring player in tier 1 (10th place) can be bumped down to tier 2 with winner of tier 2 or tier 2 vs tier 1 (tournament winner) breaking top 10.

lowest scoring player in any tier will be dropped 1 tier next tournament.
