CF Wedding. Parents on board everyone else not so much

We explicitly stated that children were welcomed to the ceremony but would not be able to attend the following reception.

I can understand guests giving you grief over this. With weddings, you really have to choose one or the other. Either kids are allowed at the whole event, or they aren't. By saying they're allowed at the ceremony, but not the reception - why would you even want them at the ceremony? - means that guests who have children in tow will have to keep their kids settled for 30-60 minutes, then leave to bring them home, get them setup with a babysitter or family member, then make their back for the reception, which really they could end up missing some of because they're stuck shuttling a little one around. Honestly, just go no kids at the wedding. It'll save you so much hassle.
