Calling the cops doesn't do much. They might hold the person temporarily but if they aren't charged or they make bail, then you're in even more trouble than before. I mean my ex would break into my house and leave notes saying "locos can't keep a marine out" so I had to stay with a female friend he thankfully didn't know for a two weeks.
