Modi and the right-wing madness came into power at just the right time. ISRO had remarkable feats back in the days too but the previous governments didn't have the means nor the will to appropriate their success and brandish it as its own.

I vividly remember Chandrayaan-1. It was India's first extraterrestrial project. I was in highschool and I remember my physics teacher taking a bunch of extra classes explaining things to us make us feel super excited. In retrospect, find it comical to even think of relating it to politics, let alone think about crediting it to Manmohan Singh.

It's ridiculous how the entire discourse has changed in just a decade.
