Mexico should not be allowed to host the World Cup, even if it’s only 1/3 of matches, the control that the cartel have over Mexico is incredible and their activities in the last 18 months, including 200+ assassinations and 400+ related disappearances is too much to simply ignore.

If Mexico are knocked out unfairly, or one of the smaller cartels are upset with the result of Mexico being knocked out, it could have detrimental effects and the Mexican government have already proved there’s nothing they can do to protect players or fans.

The threat of US intervention is also not a concern for them, as 30~ years of the war on drugs as well as the US’ various other wars has seen the US ineffective at dealing with any guerrilla style combatant.
