Change in WFH culture prompted by COVID-19?

I work in insurance, technically in London but outside of the city.

My managers always said hell no to WFH, for the majority of us, although team leaders and other higher ups were allowed to.

WFH has been great for me, I feel much more productive (well, most days) and I can do the exact same work from home. Ideally I’d like to split between WFH and going into the office, whether or not that’s 3 days at home and 2 in the office or whatever.

Our senior management just released a statement saying that they had been discussing moving into being a more flexible working company for some time and that this has actually given the opportunity to do so. They haven’t confirmed anything for definite yet but it sounds like they’re very open to having some people splitting WFH/office and some working from home entirely, if it’s more suitable for them.

I’m looking forward to seeing what happens with this, I can’t imagine going back into the office full time now :/
