CHANGES TO MAGIC PRODUCT LANGUAGES

Simplified Chinese was adopted in 1949 and distributed in 1956. The cultural revolution began in 1966.

Beyond that, people who fled in the 1960s from the cultural revolution and don't know the language of the country they fled to are first gen immigrants which means they're at minimum 70 years old. I don't think many of them play magic.

If you think the children of the people who fled the cultural revolution only spoke Chinese you're thoroughly misspoken. Even by the 2nd generation we learn our native language so keeping TC/Korean isn't for us. Among my friends half of them know their native language and the other half only know English. Keeping TC for the people who escaped the cultural revolution is for specifically first gen immigrants. Virtually all 2nd/3rd generation immigrants I know in the US speak English

Beyond that, people who can read traditional chinese can oftentimes read simplified chinese.
