Changing criminal court date

I've had to interact with the criminal justice system. I went out of my way to stay ahead of the case, appeared to all my hearings early, and filed a well-cited motion to dismiss. The judge scheduled a hearing, asked the ADA why my motion should not be granted, and when their answer was unsatisfactory the case was dismissed. The judge was impartial, I was not guilty before being proven so, and I was given my due process.

What will actually happen is the judge will deny you bail because you had a bench warrant issued, you'll lose your job in jail, and ultimately be forced to take a plea bargain so you can get it out before your home is foreclosed and your wife leaves you.

It's extremely unlikely the judge would "revoke bail" when OP's husband was cited instead of arrested, but it seems your experience draws from the more serious end of the criminal justice system than misdemeanor theft. Sorry to hear about your ex-wife.

If it were a case where there was bail to revoke, yes, all of that would be included in what I said: "Having to issue a bench warrant will NOT impress the judge."
