Changing Name - Scotland

I paid £40 for a deed poll and it was accepted everywhere, but being honest, you could absolutely recreate what I was sent by doing it yourself. The only ‘fancy’ aspects about mine is that there’s a Red Seal and it’s printed on thicker paper, even the wording is 90% similar to the free ones online. It’s not as complicated as you think!

Your next steps would be get a deed poll, then start booking appointments or contacting companies to inform them of your name change. Apply for a new passport & license. It’s actually quite straightforward and not as daunting as it now seems - it only took a week for my name to be updated everywhere and to receive my passport, then a few days my license arrived and everything was sorted.
