A brand burn can be seen behind the flesh of his left ear. Faith: R’hllor Gift: Agility Skill(s): Riding, Archery, Bilingual (Lyseni) Fault(s): Ugly (Numerous Scars across his body, including large burns) Starting titles: (Unknowing) Lord of Steadfast, Lieutenant Commander of The Arrowhead’s Mercenary Company Starting Location: Goldengrove Alt for: Doordox (Ser Harrold Waynswood) Bio: Merrin grew up in Steadfast and Goldengrove in the Reach. His father, the lord, was close with his liege lord of Goldengrove, and Merrin spent much of his time with Lord Goldengrove's son, Flement. The boys were thick as thieves, and often raced around the holdings on their steeds, growing accomplished at riding while doing so. However, at the age of twenty he grew restless, and travelled to Highgarden seeking adventure. While on a merchant vessel bound for Slaver's Bay he was shipwrecked off the coast of southern Volantis. His companion, Ser Hayle Slade, was no where to be found. Unable to speak the language and lost, he wandered along the coast until a group of slavers kidnapped him on their way to Lys, where he was sold to the Red Temple. Lost, delirious from hunger and pain, he awoke to find himself in the hands of a liberal red priest, who showed him how R'hllor's light had saved him and inducted him into the church. As a result of the initiation, burns cover a large portion of his lower body and upper chest, hidden by his clothing. While in Lys, he also managed to learn Lyseni, thereby allowing him to get along better in his new world. While sailing back to Volantis, his ship was hijacked by pirates, one of whom was his old companion Hayle Slade. Reunited once again, they travelled to the Stepstones to look for work, where they met Malcom, who taught them to shoot a bow. Merrin, remembering the archery contests he and Flement used to do, became very good. The three of them founded a small Mercenary Squad called the Arrowheads, and after four years of work in Essos, the Disputed lands and the Stepstones, he is leading his men back to his hometown, wishing to see Goldengrove once again.
