A character in One Piece is explicitly confirmed as identifying as a man. This upsets no one and a good time was had by all. (Spoilers for One Piece, I guess)

Are black people not supposed to be offended by you obviously proving you want to be racist but don't want to face real life consequences?

See that's the real rub of it right? In a vacuum they're right: they're just fictional characters and they're not going to hear you or get offended. Call them whatever you want, they are literally incapable of giving a shit (unless they're the toys in Toy Story in which case you better watch it).

But we're not in a vacuum. So you end up sounding like the white kids joking all the fucking time about getting an n-word pass. Why do you so desperately want to be allowed to say that word? Why do you want to misgender people so much? It just reflects really poorly on you, and exposes your thought processes, and it's not because the fictional character was offended.
