Charlize Theron says male director made her do multiple costume fittings to look more 'fuckable'

The problem with the entertainment business is that by its nature it involves discrimination for and against protected categories, specifically sex. Physical appearance isn't itself a protected category but color is.

So I don't know how that's handled legally, there must be a framework. Obviously if you need a woman petfotmer you can't hire a man, etc.

The point I want to make is that, I'm sure the fact that the industry is allowed otherwise illegal discrimination sometimes, probably blurs the lines for people working in it. So yeah. A director can stand right there while you're changing, and any other job that's harassment and probably is too in entertainment. Also, a producer openly boasting about the gender imbalance of their company while sex is a protected category.
