In Charlotte for the week, thinking about getting a round in. Help a fella out?

I'd suggest the following courses based on difficulty and proximity to another round: Sugaw, Reedy Creek, Eastway, Kilborne.

Its a toss-up between Reedy and Eastway for me out of those four. Eastway has more length and open holes, Reedy is shorter but more fun / diverse IMO.

Now, here are my favorite courses in Charlotte or within an hours drive:

Hornets Nest - Its a Charlotte classic. It'll be more demanding than the four courses above, but its a fair and balanced challenge, never frustrating. There are shorter tees and longer tees, referred to as the Nest and Web. I'd give the shorter layout a go, its a beautiful and diverse course.

Nevin - Honestly I'd skip this, its a rough one.

Renaissance - Definitely come here. Golds are more than what you're looking for, but the Pro Players layout would be your style I'd imagine. Like Hornets nest it'll give you a diverse range of shots and challenge you, but it isn't going to beat you down. There is a third course on the property I think you'd enjoy, Renske. Its mostly shorter, easier holes, but they're technical and diverse enough to still be fun. I wouldn't visit just for Renske, but Renske + Pro Players course is a good afternoon of golf.

Winget. Its a little out of the way but this is the perfect course for you IMO. At 350' you have the distance to park every par 3 here, but none of them will feel like gimmies. Its got good shot diversity and IMO its just the best shorter, easier 18 hole course around.

Rolling Pines - I don't know if you plan to travel outside the 485 loop or not, but if you do, this is a destination to consider. I haven't played the shorter tees but they looked fun. The gold tees are tougher than you're looking for, but make for an epic, world class round of golf. I would strongly consider trying the short course -if- you plan on driving around. Its a dead simple drive from Charlotte too, north on 77, turn on 431 and basically take that to the course.

Chester State Park. Like Rolling pinesz I've only played pongs but the shorts looked solid. There are actually two courses here, a technical 9 hole pitch and putt and the 18 hole destination level course I'm suggesting. Warm up on the 9 then toss 18. Beautiful, secluded property.

All Terrain Disc Golf - A little over an hours drive south on 77 and you're there. ATDGC is a rugged, beautoful, secluded course. Long and short tees, you could have fun from either. There are two par 4's and a par 5 that are long, but they're all downhil and throwing 350' you could be shooting for bird on them if you hit your lines. If you like rugged, adventurous courses with tons of elevation in play, look into this one.

Goat Island - This is just outside of Charlotte city limits. I think you'd enjoy it. 18 holes, half of which have long tees, you could rock either. Its a bit more challenging than Sugaw / Eastway / Kilborne IMO, but definitely not as tough as Hornets Nest or Renny Pro Players.

I have videos of all these courses on my youtube save for Renny Pro Players course and All Terrain. I'm uploading a video I shot at All Terrain sometime over the next 24 hours though.

PS if you can't tell I live in the area. Feel free to PM me and maybe Ican show you around a course.
