Everyone is salty that someone had it easier when writing personal statement. I think, it’s unlikely they will catch you out, especially if like you said you have modified it extensively and only used it for 2 paragraphs. The admissions team that reviews it will just think it’s another standard personal statement.

But with that in mind, the whole point is to stand out, to express why you deserve to be in the uni, to tell them why you want to go to that specific uni. It’s not gonna help you at all to use a generic personal statement. If you are just submitting a personal statement for the sake of doing it, why bother applying to that uni?
