Chat Thread (May 16, 2022)

I posted and deleted a snarky/drunk comment about this last night, but I am curious what you all think about the last few comments on the site update thread, where a Transition Team member talked about the kind of MetaFilter they would like to see, and then the outgoing owner came in to say that this vision was in some way opposed to the "fundamental character" of the site. I found that really undermining and counterproductive to what the TT is supposed to accomplish. I don't know that I will ever return to MetaFilter but there are good people on the TT and I would like to see them succeed. I enjoy having my pessimism proved wrong. But that exchange really bothered me, especially considering how absent the leadership is when valid questions that would actually benefit from their input come up.
