Has cheating become normalized?

I don’t think many of are ready for this open relationships concept but in response to the end of your comment, I do think there’s a chance that we’re headed that way. When people let go of the fact that their self-esteem is tied to other people, we may progress towards having multiple (conscious) relationships and live more in consensual and honest interdependent societies where we might get different needs met by different people and it’s totally acceptable. One of the current issues is the fact that there are a LOT of expectations being placed on ONE person to be just about everything for you and that’s unfair, idealistic and so unlikely. It might be part of the reason so many are frustrated in dating. I don’t have the answer to that, but I suspect it’s something along these themes and that we may be shifting in the way we view relationships.
