Chess is pure mental. There is no fucking reason why there should be a womens only branch. The fact the problem on who is the best women player, dictated by idiots, is going to be played in Iran is pure comedy

Ok, no ones disagreeing with the fact that your performance in chess is based ok your mental capababilities of playing the game. But theres still a huge discrepancy between how good males are to how good females are in chess. Why? Id say it's purely because of lack of time investment and participation from females. Chess splits the leagues into two for each gender to give a league for woman. Less woman play chess, and the woman who do play chess, on average, invest less time into the game, and therefore aren't quite as good. I've been in many chess clubs and I can count the number of competetive woman I've played against on one hand, and none of them took it as seriously as most of us. I don't know why this is and I'm not going to give a reson for it. My guess is that it's related to time-investment. All I know is from what I've seen, and with certainty, men are better than woman at chess on average. I dont think we have different capabilities, but I do think that the conpetetive average is skewed because of higher male participation. I hope my experiences do not displease you as you're reading this, because I really am just trying to present the facts, and what I think is the cause of all this.

So are gener split leagues a problem? I think no, considering that the most skilled competitions are almost always gender mixed.
