Chief admits Brantford police ‘not dispatched’ to suspicious vehicle call prior to homicide

My friend who lived downtown Toronto was shocked when the cops came to her house in a couple minutes when two homeless guys decided to have a battle royale on her yard and porch at 1:30 in the morning on the weekend. It had broken up by the time the cops got there and they left quickly since it was over and the guys took off but when she said she was surprised they got there so quick one cop said "well when someone is alone and in danger we try and get there as quick as we can."

That suspicious vehicle call, especially if phrased as just some bad feeling or what not, is going to be the lowest priority call and even in the suburbs on a Thursday morning you might be shocked at the stupid and dangerous things people can get up to. If cops were busy on something that seemed more pressing not responding to the suspicious car report is fair enough, if they were just lazy and thought it was a call not worth responding too that's obviously unacceptable.
