Illegal immigration is illegal for a reason and stopping that should be enforced. For me the issue is when people overstate the effect illegal immigrants actually have on people. Halting illegal immigration is important, but the consequences of the current levels of illegal immigration aren't nearly as bad as many people make it out to be and seemingly push issues on to illegal immigrants instead of dealing with it properly. It is however unfair on those who do it legally and those who pay taxes which illegal immigrants then reap benefits of without contributing back to, but again, the consequences of this are a matter of principle and about what is and isn't fair, rather than the consequences of people abusing the tax system being overly detrimental to the economy or illegal immigrants being dangerous to the population as certain groups likes to portray for political advantage.
