Child sex offenders to be named as such in US passports

I don't know if there is ever a time when I would consider this debt repaid considering the crime.

I'm from a small town where everyone knows everyone else's business.

I know of multiple people who have 'paid the time' and turned around and ruined another child's life. There are whole families where someone is always willing to turn a blind eye and let that aunt or grandpa or family friend back in somehow.

Without a way to see what happened in the past like these registries, there isn't a way to shield your child from someone who has manipulated their way back into a group of people close to them.

I want to be able to choose if I want to give this person a second chance, considering the high rate of multiple offenses I've seen.

There should be a distinction between crimes, but I think they should still be a matter of public record. I think that is the best deterrent. Some people just don't care enough if they go to jail and jail teaches them to be more manipulative. It sucks, but I value my kids' future more than someone who chose to break the law.
