While 1:2 is close enough for Crit Rate : Crit Damage, it's important to remember that Critical Damage, although scaling about 1 for each 2 compared to Critical Damage, start at mere 5%, 10x less (not 2x less) than the 50% Critical Damage you get.

I'm not into doing the exact math, but long story short, the exact best balance for Crit Hit : Crit Damage is a bit over 1 point Rate for each 2 Damage, Perhaps something like 60:100 or 65:100 at higher potential coefficients (in other words, a lot of good artifacts with either to choose from and get your critical coefficients going). Quick mafs, but the part about it being over 50:100 is 100% true.
