The situations Thibs is complaining about are not set plays run for Towns. These are isos gone bad for Rose/Teague where he’s calling for KAT to set a screen to create space.

The issue with Towns rolling off a screen is his man actually needs to help off for that to happen. That doesn’t happen because teams are well aware of the fact Towns is more of a threat as a roll man than Rose is as a jump shooter so the defender on KAT hedges hard on him instead of switching onto Rose so he’s not an option as the roll man. There’s also the fact that when Karl rolls it creates a log jam in the paint because Taj isn’t much of a threat when he flairs out so even if Derrick breaks a big down off the bounce he’s having to pull up for floaters or jumpers. Thibs needs to either have Taj be the screener or play Saric ahead of him for spacing reasons making a guard/KAT PnR more effective.
