China is denying claims that they are illegally forcing prisoners to work after a 6 year old girl uncovered a plea for help in a Christmas card. This is the message, "We are foreign prisoners in Shanghai Qingpu Prison China. Forced to work against our will."

I mean it seems like on a world politics level it would be easy to say quit your shit or else. How many nations really agree with all the crazy shit going on? I guess China and Russia are our biggest and really only viable enemies but how big a threat are the really. I mean in terms of actual threat of instant war if the rest of the world had enough of the bullshit and imposed trade sanctions and economic measures to coerce cooperation on a humanitarian level?

I doubt China OR Russia is in an economic and military position to instantly respond violently to any perceived threat. Remember the US spends more on defense annually than most other nations COMBINED. the policy for the last few years with the US, and by extension NATO and the UN (which both derive most of their military might and peacekeeping power from the US Arsenal) has been peace through superior firepower. The US has a a naval fleet comprised of an insane number of ships each of which cost the total GDP of small countries and the total defense expenditure of large ones. EACH. The idea that any country on earth is in a position to pick a fight with the USA for anything but the most extreme circumstances is silly. These facts are not just made up, this is common knowledge. Since the Cold War there has been an absolutely silly build up of advanced military tech.

A war with China or Russia would be disastrous but would the people’s republic really risk a war over being told to get their shit in line? I think propaganda has made people think all nations are equally scared of war but the is and always has been that the US is in a MUCH better position and military posture to make demands than most other nations and certainly of the 3 superpowers.
