No. Not a war at all. This is just legitimizing economic countermeasures to chinese economic protectionism. Democrats just don't know how to do that while treating the public like adults. They never have and never will.

Also democrats never spend money without taking their cut. This whole global belt and road alternative by the g7 is a huge scam that's going to cost us massive amounts. China can offer such loans because they have the dominant international construction presence and can complete these projects effectively. The US getting into this is just going to be another solyndra/big dig failure. A way to siphon money off of the private sector into public contracts. Even if all of those loans get spent on american construction, the job won't be done on time or within budget. And we sit to shoulder the burden when these loans can't actually be collected and are offered at criminally low interest rates. It's even better for them than their shithouse government bailouts, cause they get to spend the money upfront and then leave us hanging when there's nothing to take back.
