The scientific support for some western medicine is pretty shitty too, and that should be trashed as well.

But no, made up bullshit with no scientific basis is crap, whether it's ancient herbs that look like what they're supposed to cure or leeches or a drug made by a gigantic western corporation that doesn't actually deliver better outcomes than placebo.

Because yes, some traditional Chinese Medicine contains some of the same compounds that modern medicine uses to treat some of the disorders it's used for.

Leeches are actually good for some disorders too.

And some natural products are better than artificial ones, though the active ingredients properly separated or produced are usually better.

But having the same chemical doesn't give you the same efficacy. As we've all discovered recently. Like a medicine and a fish tank cleaner. One doesn't treat coronavirus and the other kills you.
