Not necessarily... It seems to depend on the study. Jews have been in Europe a very long time. And some of them look as pale and platinum blond as anyone else you could find in Europe.

Ashkenazi: a Jew of central or eastern European descent. More than 80 percent of Jews today are Ashkenazim; they preserve Palestinian rather than Babylonian Jewish traditions, and some still use Yiddish. (google's definition)

According to 23 and Me, I'm 25% Ashkenazi Jewish (exactly as expected) and 2% of Middle Eastern descent... But maybe they define Ashkenazi as non-Middle-Eastern when others call the same genes Middle Eastern?

It looks like studies VASTLY differ on the genetics of Ashkenazi populations. Some studies say "30% of Ashkenazi genes come from Europe and 70% from the Middle East", also sited are studies saying that 12.5% of the Paternal Ashkenazi genes come from Europe (87.5% from the Middle East), another gives the paternal line as 8% European, and another says that "80 percent of Ashkenazi maternal ancestry comes from women indigenous to Europe, and 8 percent from the Near East, with the rest uncertain". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_studies_on_Jews

Huh... That was a neat rabbit hole.

Eh... I dunno. How much folks married their neighbors probably depended practically by county, given those vast differences in the studies. But my Jewish grandpa sure had blond hair and blue eyes.
