Chris Rock’s Brother: ‘I Don’t Understand Why Black People Feel This Undying Need to Be Down with White People All the Time’

I feel this way. I don't know many white people I have no white friends because I grew up in majority black schools and an area that has only started getting white people moving in but still not very many.

At the end of the day I'm not even sure of seeing in my community, because it's just this thing about white people when we're they think they're in with black people (hood white people mostly) they can talk to you in the same way other black do. Like white girls who come talk to me like sistas do, I just look at them weirdly and ignore them because it's just something they don't get with their skin that they shouldn't be trying imitate certain thing. And to people who'd say "talking white or black isn't a thing" you know they rip off our culture down to the attitudes typically associated with black culture because you know white people don't come with that attitude and it never seems natural.

But on the other hand, having white friends and shit I have no problem with anyone doing so. But I don't see many black people here trying to impress white people or including them in everything. I agree that we shouldn't need them for anything and that some black people always feel the need to include them.

Like a lot of the movements, all this focus upon including white "allies" and shit to the point where that becomes a specific focus just sickens the fuck out of me sometimes.

It gets to the point that if you have a black person with a white friend and they come to a rally or some shit that they're up this white person's ass, and imo they have no right speaking at these places no matter how much of an "ally" they are.

White people who think they know our struggle more than us also piss me the fuck off. I don't need you speaking for me.
