Christian Cake Maker Who Lost Court Case Receives Support from Gay Community

Skin color is not analogous to actions. Actions can be sinful. Even desiring to do wrong is sinful. Whether or not you believe homosexual sex is a sin or not, it is not the same as being black from birth. The analogy would be black people having sex with white people, but even that isn't really an exact analogy.

Being born male isn't a sin. Being born female isn't a sin. Arguably being somehow predisposed toward attraction to the same gender might not be something one has any control over. If it isn't a choice it can't be a sin. But a choice can be a sin.

That's the difference in this situation. Do we support the union of two people of the same gender if we believe that consummation of that union is a sin? That is actually a moral choice.

And it is a type of discrimination, but it is more like the discrimination you would see toward a couple who believed in and practiced an open marriage.

This is not an exact parallel.

I hold that the world makes its own rules and that the Church follows God's law, and have no problem with the world ruling in favor of same sex marriage. That doesn't affect me. I also don't intend to force others to act according to the moral code I embrace.

Love should rule the day.

But telling me I am akin to a racist because I believe the Bible when it says this particular action is wrong, that is bigotry. Religious discrimination.

It is different. Moral choices should be free on both sides. The Lord is the one who alone can judge each heart. But forcing a believer to act against his conscience is just as wrong as forcing a homosexual couple to go against what they believe to be right.

Freedom, forgiveness, and love. If I don't want to force you to live according to my morals, why is it right for you to force me to live according to your morals.

It is not race. It is actions.
