To the Christian trolls and Right-to-Life brigaders in this sub. . .

Negative.

Read a number of translations NIV, ESV, ASV etc.. you will see. Unless you are posting the original Hebrew and making an argument on how it should be translated.

Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. -- Numbers 3:15-16

Again could be an infant mortality thing, not worth counting them that young. Also note they only count males. Are you also going to make the argument that Christians should be fine with killing any woman then since they don't "count"?

So according to god, there is no equal assumption of personages. Including gender and age.

I don't think it is surprising an ancient religion is sexist

The Census aspect had nothing to do with vows. It had to do with counting viable population.

I wasn't talking about the census, I was talking about the verse in Leviticus regarding vows....which you posted.

So god's commands are really just arbitrary, and meaningless to morality.

he gets to determine morality if he really is "god"

Also most Christians handwave away most of the old testament, regarding Jesus' death as having fulfilled the need to follow most of the rules and laws set forth. They consider these rules only for the ancient Jews and not something modern Christians have to follow. And while they must contend with the fact that their god did many things we would consider terrible in a modern context, they really don't consider god to be so "brutal" anymore. Posting old testament verses and telling Christians "this is what you really believe!!" never works.
