Controversial opinion incoming:

Priest said nothing wrong outside of being insensitive.

From the clips we're given, it appears the priest only really said that the church has helped resi schools. Where's the lie?

Has there been serious problems in resi schools? Yes. I don't see anywhere where the priest is dismissing that - he simply said the church has helped in some ways.

He then goes onto say that we can't discuss these things in rhetoric anymore. This is actually a serious concern that's been noted by many already.

Bad timing? Insensitive? Maybe he should have just kept his mouth shut altogether? Absolutely. Did he actually say anything rude though?
