I understand where you are coming from, but blaming the failings of humans on god doesn’t really sit right. Christ said the church is vital, and what ever form that takes, I think you need a stable fellowship to keep you grounded. If you don’t feel comfortable in the church you’re in, then move, but don’t give it up all together, because then you become game for misinformation.

You’re right in saying that people should be accepting of who you are and where you’re at, but the same applies to them too. God loves them just as much as you, so that means you should too.

Im not in your situation, so I don’t know all the facts, forgive me if I’ve made any major errors, or presumptions.

At the end of the day, we are called to love god, and love others. There are no commandments greater than these, so don’t loose hope because of people.
