CIG Pulling Account Funds from Backers to Pay for 2013 Scams

So, to clarify:

I buy 160 dollar ship.

Send him 160 dollar ship (locking it to his account)

He melts it and buys the LTI version (my guess is he actually bought, say, 50 of these ships during concept sale and is just recouping his purchases, trading LTI ships for massive amounts of credit)

Maybe he used these credits to buy a jav, maybe he bought a completionist pack, who knows.

I charge back the original purchase which I had already sent to the guy (making it the guy's property) and get full refund. At that point, the one who has the ship in their possession must relinquish it - otherwise it's possession of stolen property.

The guy stupidly sent a free ship to me, as I made no purchase, but was now gifted a ship.

The gifting system does not work off "I have to own a ship to be gifted a ship"

The guy knew his risk, he took full liability when offering this. His option is to do the same (find the transaction of gifting to that dude, and charge it back, removing said ship from existence, except that'll never happen, it's now been too long, should have taken care of it immediately)

The only person that should be on the hook is the guy, he gave me a ship, that's the only transaction that matters. Him melting a ship that got refunded would be very risky, he was the victim, but he took 100% liability. It sucks to get burned, but he did, and there's no way, unless the logs can show him exactly which person it was and he has CIG agree that a bound ship should be unsent/retracted (it'll never happen)

There has never been a way to both get a non-LTI ship and a LTI ship at the same time, short of buying a large pack, which doesn't allow individual ships to be gifted, so the guy has lots of credit, and just doesn't want to give up his own fraudulently acquired ship(s)
