I’ll link you to my final comment because I don’t think people are understanding my main point which is understandable: What??? My intention was not to downplay anything nor was I comparing anything. The point behind my statement was circumcisions seem to be a socially acceptable “medical procedure” and common practice but FGM is considered abuse, they’re not socially in the same game. No where was my intention to criticizing nor downplaying any form of genital mutilation. Also, genital mutilation is FGM genital mutilation is MGM. It was brought my up regardless before me. Just specified to a certain sex and used circumcision since that’s the only form of male genital mutilation I’m currently aware of. Wasn’t pinning one form on another

• I never knew before this that people didn’t recognize mgm, I understand now that how my comment can be seen as downplaying it and being misunderstood and I’m sorry for not being clear in that. I just knew circumcision as the only name of it, as I’m not fully educated on this. I’m sorry for appearknb to downplay it , I’m not trying to change the discussion, I was asked to explain, I explained. I misunderstood as they misunderstood.
