City expected to seek extension in talks with UT on preserving Muny

Good. I've lived here nearly 40 years and I've always liked that part of town. But y'know what? I hate golf. I mean, I really hate golf. And I'm not too fond of Richie assholes, either. And yet, unlike most people on the sub, it seems, I don't feel the need to fuckup a place just because I don't personally benefit from it. (I don't mind paying school taxes, either, despite not having kids, too.) I'll never live in Tarrytown and I'll never (ever) play golf, but I like that area as it is and I want it to remain that way.

...

Kinda like the North Slope of Alaska, back when everyone was debating opening up oil leases which would likely affect wildlife there as well as the scenic beauty; or preserving Angkor Wat, or anything like that. That may seem a little hyperbolic but the point is that those places don't deserve to perish just because I don't personally have a stake in their continued existence.
