City Nerd calls DuSable LSD the worst waterfront highway in North America

That's a bad faith argument unless you tell us what you think is true. Let's look into this:

It's better to have that street separated from the lake by park land than have it right next to the lake.

You think it's betting to have the street right next to the lake rather than have park space next to the lake?!

The only other option would have been to have houses between the street and the park

What other options do you see when placing street, lake, park, and housing? You can't put the lake between the street and the houses...

which would be an upgrade in some ways

I said "in some ways" so this can't be argued.

although this way you see the lake from the street (i.e. LSD) and the tall buildings, whereas the other way you'd have no lake view at all from the street.

How is this false?

So, this is the best way without making Michigan Ave./Sheridan/Ashland/etc. a highway all the way up and down, which isn't feasible.

What else do you propose? I haven't owned a car in over 15 years so I'm all about reducing traffic, yet as it is if we blocked off LSD somehow that traffic would go elsewhere west, flooding those other streets I mention.
