City of Sierra Vista is going to put food trucks out of business with Ordinance No. 2016-002. Please help to stop this.

The ordinance will pass without second thought and food trucks will lose. A petition is going to do nothing other than Well, thank you for bringing this before the commission" type of comment.

Apparently there is no organization among the food truck vendors to do anything about it. Understanding how politics work with the people you are going up against--THE CITY COUNCIL. It's all about money and if the food truck industry doesn't contribute money to the community (or to the pockets of the friends of the city council) then there is no use for them to allow food trucks. Try to understand the reasons why the city council members do not want food trucks. Almost every member of the city council has some historic tie to the military at Fort Huachuca and established businesses in Sierra Vista (think restaurants).

The entire city council is made of semi-professional politicians. If you want to change the opinion of the commission, find other issues that the commission has been opposing and network with the groups that are struggling to get their issues passed also. Sierra Vista is a strange little island of politics as the military community has great influence on everything. As stated, nearly all city commissioners have had some direct link to the army at one time or another. That aspect is most likely not ever going to change.

Do you research!
